1995
Jan De Nul Group starts his longest-running project, the concession for the deepening and maintenance of the Río Paraná and the Río de la Plata. This project enables Jan De Nul to create an operational base and even a home market in Argentina, from which the whole of Latin America can be covered.
2014
Jan De Nul Group starts the frac sand project in Argentina.
Starting with river characterization (sampling and testing campaign) and conceptual engineering of the plant.
2016
Arenas Argentinas del Paraná is founded with the technical support, strong experience and high level of professionalism of mother company Jan De Nul Group.
2014 -2017
A presentation of the new project to potential customers follows. There will be a detailed plant engineering and environmental impact studies. Lastly, there is the start of the procedures.
2017-2018
The commercial proposals of the project and bidding processes get started just like the construction of the factory.
2019
Production and sale of natural sand are about to start.
Jan De Nul Group in Argentina
Jan De Nul Group is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1995, the Group signed, through its subsidiary Hidrovía, the concession for the maintenance of the Río Paraná and Río de la Plata. The contract was initially assigned for a period of 10 years, but was extended due to the good results and good cooperation with the local authorities.
Jan De Nul Group has been present in Argentina ever since. From maintenance dredging in the port of Bahía Blanca, over the dredging works in the Río Paraná to trenching works for the Vega Pleyade Project.
